Restoran La Rizz invites you to indulge in a diverse Malaysian dining experience right in the heart of Bandar Baru Bangi. Specializing in breakfast and lunch, this Malaysian restaurant masterfully blends traditional local flavors with a surprising twist of western influences, offering a menu as varied as it is inviting. From classic nasi lemak and comforting bubur nasi (rice porridge) to unexpected delights like Malay-style pasta, pizza, and an array of freshly baked pastries, the culinary variety here promises something for every palate.
Step inside, and you'll find a cozy, relaxed atmosphere that makes it an ideal spot for a laid-back morning or midday meal. The space is thoughtfully kept clean, with clear policies that contribute to a hygienic environment, although some diners have noted the presence of flies as an area for improvement. The honest and friendly staff enhance the welcoming vibe, ensuring your dining experience feels personal and attentive.
Food enthusiasts will appreciate the subtle yet satisfying flavors found in staples like the fragrant nasi lemak — rich coconut rice paired with tender curry chicken and crispy telur gulung (egg rolls), as well as the delightful Yamani bread, praised for its unique texture and warmth. The breakfast spread impresses with hot options including pasta, pizza, sandwiches, and even donuts, making it a fascinating blend of local and Western morning favorites. While some dishes, such as the soto, lean towards the “okay” mark, items like the bubur and Yamani bread shine through and keep diners coming back.
Pricing here is a topic of mixed feelings. While some customers feel the prices are on the premium side for the setting, most still agree the quality and selection make it worthwhile. Parking near the restaurant can be challenging due to limited spots, but there are alternatives just behind the venue to ease your visit.
One unique policy to note is their stance against feeding stray animals on-premises, a decision rooted in animal welfare concerns, which has sparked mixed reactions among patrons. Nevertheless, the overall experience centers on delivering hearty, dependable Malaysian meals with a twist, served with warmth and professionalism.
If you’re in Bandar Baru Bangi and seeking a breakfast or lunch spot that provides a rich variety of authentic Malaysian comfort foods alongside some unconventional offerings, Restoran La Rizz is a compelling choice. The blend of familiar tastes with adventurous menu options ensures that each visit offers a new flavor journey to savor.

What's good? - Food variety - Malay food, Malay style pasta, pizza & pastry. - cleanliness - they have a policy of not allowing to feed stray animals What's so-so? - price. Bit steep for the place, but not overly so. - taste wise - not so bad but not too great to make me travel far to come to this place What's not okay for me? - policy of not feeding strays because "it's against the animal's nature"... I mean, really??

A little more pricey for their nasi lemak but still relatively nice. Quite an impressive breakfast spread. We ordered nasi lemak, bubur nasi (rice porridge) and some kuehs. Was surprised to see hot pasta, pizza, sandwiches and donuts already available for breakfast.

Tried both the bubur and the soto. Do try the Yamani bread too. While the bubur was delicious, the soto was only okay. Delighted with the flavour of Yamani bread. Because there are just a few parking spots available, you should think about parking behind the restaurant. Both the customer service and the food selection were great, highly recommended. Pricing is a tad premium but well worth it.

Delicious meal but as others said, the price was quite expensive, but still affordable. My one comment is that there is not enough parking spaces nearby.
